We have 6 values that we hold to as a local church they are as follows:
1. Biblical Christian Growth
We believe that it is God's desire that every Christian grow to maturity in Christ.
We believe that the Bible, as God's infallible and inerrant word to us, is the basis and final authority for our growth into Christ-likeness.
The ministries and messages of the Gympie Wesleyan Methodist Church will be oriented towards helping every person grow in their faith in a practically relevant manner
2. Godly Relationships
We believe that we ought to love God first with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and secondly that we ought to love our neighbour as ourselves.
Our church ought to be charactereised by acceptance and love, caring for one another with true godliness.
The Gympie Wesleyan Methodist Church ought to be a safe place for people to come, a place where they can be loved unconditionally regardless of race, beliefs, background, or social status. All are welcome.
3. Authenticity
We believe that only when God’s people are real and transparent with each other that true growth can happen.
Ministries of the Gympie Wesleyan Methodist Church will seek to create an environment where transparency and authenticity is encouraged and modelled.
4. Purpose-Driven
We believe that the Scriptures testify to the fact that God is a God of purpose. He has a purpose for each of us as individuals, a purpose for the church, and a purpose for His creation.
We believe that it is God’s desire that we discover His purpose for us as a Church and that this purpose determines all that we do including ministries, staffing, outreach, and pastoral care.
Therefore, we will not be driven by other external or internal factors such as perceived needs, finance, or wishes, but be driven by a desire to look to the future as we become the Church that God would have us be.
5. Christ-likeness
We believe that God calls us to be like Christ. Philippians 2tells us that we should have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus. We believe that the Holy Spirit can transform our life and make us holy. The Holy Spirit can give us the power to live a life which is honouring to God.
Therefore at the Gympie Wesleyan Methodist Church, Christ-like attitudes such as humility, submission, and the fruit of the Spirit will be modelled and taught by leaders of all ministries.
6. Excellence
Everything that God has done and/or does is done with excellence. When God created the world it was created perfect. When God made man, he was made perfect. The heavens tell of His excellent greatness.
We believe that God deserves the very best that we can give to Him. All that we do and offer to Him ought to be done and given from the very best of our ability.
Therefore at the Gympie Wesleyan Methodist Church we value excellence in all that we do. Through attention to the details of the little things, we are able to express our reverence, respect, and love for Him.
